It has, of course, been almost a month since I posted my last journal entry (has every1 seen my appearance in the Mercury, yet?), so this entry will need be remembered and executed in terms of goals, basically, and if you dig.. It turns out there are more places @ which I can play nethack than I'd been thinking, is the basic reason for this (tho there are others, including a longish stay on Portlands west side this most recent time around), and I think that my typed journal entries will be more frequent, for a little while, @ least. I now have a tape recorder, and a ghetto blaster with a record button, so there is anereana in which I will feel home and dry, apon the completion of the following:
1) batteries for ghetto.
2) finding my double ended jack
I've started jounaling with the tape recorder, but even on that account I am about a week tardy, because after my most recent cart reorg, I placed it somewhere, from which retrieval did not seem a worthwhile endeavor, until just last night. I got the tape-recorder @ goodwill for about $4.00, since the price was good, and I've many tapes, and access to 'puters w/usb is an essentially usovlved problem. Therefore using this older technology seemed "the right thing" to employ a bit of hacker slang.
Tapes, not vynyl, always seemed the best of the older sound technologies. In fact, I skipped cds. Never could convince myself those things were worth a damn, and, in fact, have yet to convince myself of anything like such. Even today, there are still things easier to do w/tape than other mobile recording equipment, as any1 whos considerable experience w/ digital recording, and tapes can tell you, I'm sure. Try rewinding and recording over just 1 part of a digital recording, while on the go; see how far ya get!
Hopefully next time I get to a properlly equipped terminal, I can and will record some grooveshark, and/or last.fm, and then blast it out my ghetto, thereby giving this 1 horse town, a propper musical education!!!
I think I will be doing something different in terms of pictures on typed journal from now on,; namely:
